QUESTION: Why would I hire a private enforcement agency like Support Collectors over using the “free” public child support enforcement offices?
ANSWER: While it’s difficult to compare the work of the government child support enforcement agencies to the success of private support agencies, two words do come to mind, time and effort. Government child support agencies have a large percentage of cases that pay on a consistent basis and require maintenance work only. They are satisfied with minimal payments and payments that are made every 90 days of so. Cases that Support Collectors work are just the opposite; our clients’ cases are not receiving any support when they come to us. On average there are no payments for over 9 months or more, some cases are delinquent over 20 years! Government agencies are overwhelmed with every aspect of child support cases, paternity testing, contempt, modification, medical support just to name a few.
